Edward Tilton is a proven behavioral healthcare leader with an established track record in the recovery industry space. As an accomplished healthcare leader, Ed has diverse management experience including clinical and business operations, expansion of program development and clinical service offerings.



Prior to his role at Begin Again Institute, Ed held a leadership position at Valiant Living, a gender-specific program focused on helping men with fused and co-occurring disorders find recovery. During his time at Valiant Living, Ed established and managed operational, clinical, and financial objectives to grow the program to encompass all levels of clinical care including a concierge detox, inpatient care program, partial hospitalization services and an intensive outpatient track.



Ed is honored and excited to be a part of the leadership team at Begin Again Institute, implement new business strategies, forging new relationships, and helping those suffering with intimacy disorders find sustainable recovery.

Greg Kfoury is the friendly face and voice clients encounter upon their initial contact with Begin Again Institute. He has worked in business development, operations, and alumni services for our parent organization, Integrative Life Center, and is excited to bring his skills and knowledge to this vital role with us. His business acumen combined with a passion for behavioral health keep the admissions department running on all cylinders, ready to serve incoming clients and industry referents.

A native of Northern Virginia, Kfoury is a graduate of the University of Richmond and a former high school Latin teacher. He gained business experience working in commercial real estate and project management. Currently, he is pursuing a master’s degree in psychology from the Harvard University Extension School. Kfoury is an alumnus of the Integrative Life Center where he discovered and embraced the integrative approach to treatment, which included active 12-step program participation and Refuge Recovery.

Matt grew up in Kansas City and developed values around warmth, hospitality and directness that are common to the Midwest. He moved into the mental health field after working in a youth homeless shelter for almost three years as a frontline worker and supervisor. There he discovered a desire to help trauma victims find healing and deeper connections with themselves and others.



Matt went back to school and received a master’s degree in Couples and Family Counseling from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. He began his clinical work with traumatized children and young people and learned how complex issues can lead to mental distress and dysfunction in homes. After moving to Colorado, he connected with Dr. Michael Barta regarding the overlap between childhood trauma and addiction and started working with those who identified as sex addicts at Begin Again Institute.



As a counselor, Matt is energized by helping clients find words to express their emotions around their traumas and feel those emotions rather than avoid them. An agent of change, he feels most like himself when he is privileged to see growth and the end of destructive cycles in his clients. Matt has many years of experience and training working with victims of trauma. He has been described by his clients as a therapist who can cut to the core of an issue, in ways that are both challenging and compassionate.



He utilizes Emotion Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, Motivational Interviewing, Guided Meditation and is trained in Brain Spotting. Matt sees all people as deserving of living a full, healthy life and works hard to help his clients move towards that end.

Having been raised outside the US, Sako knows what it’s like to look at things from a different lens. His Armenian culture has fostered a love of close relationships where the messiness of human beings and all of their “stuff” is considered to be a part of the joy and experience of life. Sako identifies connection, compassion, humor, and growth to be his core values, which he brings into all parts of his life, especially his professional work.

He loves to support people on their journey, and believes it to be an honor to stand beside someone during some of their hardest hours and moments. Having been a pre-med student and later receiving medical healthcare training, he likes to bring in the neurophysiological side of things into his work. Sako possesses a strong relapse prevention skillset, and has a knack for working with younger guys who have porn and sex addiction issues. In coming from multidisciplinary care settings early on in his career, he believes in an integrated and bidirectional approach to therapy and addiction recovery, which includes taking a look at all co-occurring disorders (such as depression, anxiety/panic, bipolar, ADHD), and developing both a strong cognitive-behavioral skillset with somatic awareness and neuroregulation skills.

Sako is not your typical therapist. Clients have described Sako’s style as inquisitive, involved, humorous, directive, and energetic. If you’re looking for a quiet therapist who simply nods and asks you how you’re feeling, then Sako’s not the right guy for you. If you’re ready to dive into the muck, and need a compassionate yet encouraging clinician to be there with their sleeves rolled up, then Sako is ready to get to work alongside you.

Prior to his journey as a clinician at Begin Again Institute, Nate worked as a mental health technician for over six years in the behavioral health unit at Boulder Community Health. Stylistically, Nate’s clinical approach is a blend of experiential and narrative perspectives. As a clinician he enjoys the emotive “in the moment” style combined with the narrative storytelling approach to illicit change in his clients. For Nate, healing is a synthesis of one’s stories and the way they make one feel and his specialties include working with depression and trauma. Supporting the population of men who come through the Begin Again Institute and being a part of their healing experience has been one of the most rewarding aspects of Nate’s career. Connecting with these individuals and seeing them experience feelings long thought lost is something Nate, in his own words, considers to be one of the most enriching experiences of his life.

Nate graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder in 2013 with degrees in creative writing and psychology, and received his master’s degree from the University of Colorado-Denver in 2019 in clinical counseling.

Frank Buchanan Green graduated from Johns Hopkins University in May 2019 with a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. During his master’s degree program, Frank worked as an intern in a private clinic treating clients with mental illness ranging from adjustment disorder to bipolar I and II disorders and borderline personality disorder. He primarily used cognitive behavior therapy and dialectical behavior therapy when working with these clients.



After graduating, Frank was a counselor at Behavior Health Group—a privately-held methadone clinic—providing individual therapy for people with opiate use disorder. While working with this population, Frank gained experience using motivational interviewing and solution-focused brief therapy. Additionally, he used his recovery experience from 12-step programs to share his experience, strength, and hope with his clients.



Frank joined BAI last June working as a contract facilitator for the Monday and Wednesday night aftercare groups. Starting in September, he joined the company full-time and is part of the therapy team working with client’s in BAI’s 14-day intensive program. He primarily uses solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and his 12-step experience when working with this population.



In addition to his counseling degree, Frank has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and physics and a master’s degree in business administration. He spent 30 years prior to his counseling career working in the high-tech industry and held positions in marketing, sales, and product and business development. He is married, has three adult children, and lives in Fort Collins, Colorado. He enjoys camping, playing the drums, and watching professional football.

Laurie is the President of the Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists. Founded by pioneers of the trauma approach for treating partners, APSATS trains and certifies Partner Specialists and advocates for the recovery and treatment needs of Partners of Sex Addicts. She is the author or co-author of four books, including “An Affair of the Mind,” which sold more than 120,000 copies and was translated into three languages.

In her work as a journalist, Laurie has published more than 500 articles in regional, national, and international publications. She has lectured nationally on sexuality, addiction, forgiveness, spirituality and ethics for the helping professional. Laurie runs the Partner Support Program for betrayed partners of those affected by sexual addiction at the Begin Again Institute in Boulder, Colorado.
