Credentials FAQ's

SASH will no longer be credentialing new CPBST, SOC, or CSRT providers.

  • CPBST and SOC holders may request a record review to apply past achievements toward the new credentials.

  • CSRT holders may request a review for conversion to the SRWP.

  • DST endorsement has been renamed Distinguished Sexology Professional (DSP) and is now a merit-based recognition awarded by the board. Legacy DST holders should retire the title unless notified otherwise.

A reference page of legacy credential holders will be published on the SASH website. If you retain your legacy credential, you must add “-L” and include the statement:
“This is a SASH legacy endorsement, which is no longer awarded but is still recognized.”

If you do not want your name included on the reference page, please contact the SASH Education Committee by December 31, 2025 at Credential@sash.net.

Previously awarded to members holding three SASH certifications, this title has evolved. The Distinguished Sexology Professional (DSP) is now awarded by the SASH board to professionals whose work embodies our mission. There is no application process, and recipients may or may not be SASH members. Current SASH members are invited to submit nominations for potential DSPs through this online form Legacy DST holders should remove the title from professional materials unless notified by December 31, 2025.

No. Many trainings and certifications from other organizations will apply toward SASH certification. Please contact the Education Committee at credential@sash.net to learn how your achievements may be credited.
